What to do in Lisbon

Things not to miss during your stay in Lisbon, Portugal!

Eat Natas

This famous pastry, sold in every one of our restaurants, comes from the Belem neighborhood of Lisbon. Come visit the place where it all began, and discover the production process while tasting these delicious treats!

Tuk tuk tour

The best way to get an overview of the city in a short amount of time: a tuk tuk tour. They are very easy to find since they’re everywhere in the city, but you have to make sure that the driver is knowledgeable about Lisbon’s history so you can learn about the city. Your hotel will likely be able to book you one leaving from the lobby. We recommend to do the tour on your first day as it will allow you to spot the neighborhoods that inspire you the most.

Take a shot of ginjinha

Ginjinha belongs to the same family since 1840 and it is one of Lisbon’s emblem. It’s a liqueur made from morello cherries (ginja in Portuguese), the fruit for which it is named. The drink is sweet and affordable. A must-do pit-stop when you are in this area.

Take a picture at Sao Jorge Castle

Sao Jorge used to be a royal castle. It offers a unique and gorgeous view of the city. This visit sould, on no account, be missed. It is accessible by foot, by bus or by tuk tuk.

A Fado night in the Alfama neighbourhood

Fado is a Portuguese musical style performed by one person accompanied by a guitar player. It reflects the Lusitanian people’s soul. You can go for a drink or for a full meal, it always is a magical experience! We particularly recommend the Sao Miguel d’Alfama restaurant, which belongs to Fatima, a friend of Carlos Ferreira.

Go up the Santa Justa Elevator

Inaugurated in 1902 to connect the lower part of the city to the Bairro Alto, the Santa Justa Elevator is the only vertical funicular in the city. The panorama from the top is a serious competition to the view from the Sao Jorge Castle.
