Claudia Ferreira shares with you her favorite spots in Lisbon. They are delicious restaurants offering excellent value for money.

Cervejaria Ramiro restaurant

Cervejaria Ramiro has been opened for over half a century, and it became an must-go restaurant for seafood. Some of the varieties include crabs, barnacles, lobsters, langoustines, garlic king prawns, and Bulhão Pato style clams! They have options for every budget. They are open from noon to midnight, but it is closed on Mondays. They do not take reservations so be prepared to wait in line.

Taberna da Rua das Flores

This tiny tavern offers a creative menu that changes every day. It serves a traditional Portuguese cuisine with exotic touches. They accept cash only and they don’t take any reservations.

A Nossa Casa

This restaurant serves authentic flavours from the South of Portugal and from Brazil. The owners are super welcoming and friendly, you’ll feel right at home! The meals are flavorful and the prices very reasonable. Don’t forget to book your table!

Tanite

Right beside the LX Factory neighborhood, Tanine restaurant offers a typical Portuguese sandwich. It is a small canteen with a modest but charming decor. The famous Francesinha, meaning “little Frenchie” in Portuguese, is a traditional dish from the city of Porto. It’s like a French croque-monsieur or a Quebec hot chicken sandwich, but with more meat and more flavour. You have to try it! P.S.: It’s even better in the wee hours of the morning!

Time Out Market

This famous market that will be opening in Montreal in 2019, the Time Out Market, is a must-see in Lisbon for a full meal, an afternoon snack or for happy hour. You’ll get to experience food from many famous Portuguese chefs such as Alexandre Silva, Henrique Sá Pessoa, Marlene Vieira, Miguel Castro e Silva and Miguel Laffan, for a reasonable price. You can also purchase preserves, wines and souvenirs.
